Boredum Busters

St Machar's Ranfurly Church have initiated a summer outreach initiative in collaboration with Freeland Church and Hope Hall. We are putting together and will be handing out 200 bags with stationary, craft materials, toys, sweets and a Dear Theo booklet (Luke's gospel in child friendly format) to families with primary school children in the village.

This was dreamt up in light of the fact that after 3 months of lockdown and home schooling for many families the summer holidays aren't looking too much fun. For some in the village the opportunity to go away or to buy extras for the children might not be a given. As churches we cannot organise our normal summer programmes such as holiday clubs, or in our own case the Summer Drop-In. Instead we hope that these bags will bring a bit of joy and excitement and will show that we as churches care about our community.

Distribution will take place on Thursday 9, Friday 10 and Saturday 11th of July at the Square on the Main Street between 1-3 pm. A Facebook Page has been set up to promote this: https://www.facebook.com/bowboredombusters/  so please have look and share the page on your own timeline or directly with families in the village.

Please pray for this initiative, and for the families that receive these bags, that this will be a way of showing God's love and care beyond the 'walls' of our church.
